The Club is currently on the lookout for Host Family Providers for the Academy throughout the 2022/23 season.
The Academy is in need of host family providers (couples or singles) to support the elite young players who need to live away from home to undertake their football training at our Club with our new Under-18 side.
Academy Host Providers offer a valuable service to the Club. The more providers we have, the more players we can recruit from across the United Kingdom. And, with trials beginning in the near future, the Club is now welcoming contact from those who may be interested.
Host families will be required to provide homely accommodation throughout the season. Players, who may range from 16 to 18, will require their own room with access to public transport and local amenities desirable.
Our placements involve the player staying in the accommodation for up to six nights per week.
Host families are also required to guide our young players by teaching them basic independent living skills such as washing, cooking, cleaning and looking after themselves.
The host family will also be asked to provide meals (dependent upon the Academy schedule) in line with the basic nutrition guide supplied by the Academy.
Additionally, they will need to protect and care for the young players under their responsibility.
The Football Club is committed to equal opportunities, as well as safeguarding, promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. Any applicant wishing to be considered as a host family will need to demonstrate they are able to share this commitment.
As part of that commitment, Host Families are required to attend Safeguard Training every three years which is delivered by the Football Association/Football League. Hosts’ family members and any other persons over the age of 16 who reside at the address, are legally required to complete enhanced DBS checks and subscribe to the DBS Update Service on an annual basis.
Families will be provided with funds to support the players.
