We Must Find The Right Balance - Cooper

17 September 2021

Mark Cooper has encouraged his players to embrace the challenge which lies in front of them when they make the trip to face Bradford City this weekend.

The Bluebirds boss knows that fans will be relishing the prospect of a visit to The Utilita Energy Stadium, and he is keen for the team to put on a good show for those that travel to West Yorkshire.

“We’re looking forward to it,” Cooper told us.

“We’re going to play against a big club, in a big stadium with great support and a fantastic atmosphere so we will go there with no pressure on us.

“It’s a great game for the players, but more importantly for the fans because I am sure that Bradford away is one of the fixtures they will have been looking forward to when they got back into the Football League.

“We want to go there and try to get on the front foot and put in the kind of performance that the fans can relate to, and all our energy is going into preparing for that.”

Barrow will be aiming to bounce back at Bradford following the disappointment of last Friday night’s 3-2 defeat to Colchester United at The Dunes Hotel Stadium.

However, Cooper’s men were in irresistible form during their last road trip when the put three unanswered goals past Oldham so will approach this weekend with confidence.

“We should have won the game last week,” Cooper insisted.

“When you look back at it and go over it statistically, we should have taken the three points, but we didn’t defend in the right manner, and it cost us.

“Going forward we look a real threat, but we need to make sure we find the right balance in between the two.”
