Mark Cooper was full of praise for the players and the fans after seeing his team produce a gutsy performance during an entertaining 1-1 draw with Bradford City.

The Bluebirds boss was thrilled with the way his team went about it from the first whistle at The Utilita Energy Stadium and admitted they could have come away with even more to show for their efforts.

“The fans were top drawer, and the players were magnificent,” Cooper told iFollow.

“It’s a game we could have easily won. We could have lost it too, but we really went for it, and we had some brilliant chances early on – we could have been three up in the first ten minutes.

“I have a way that I want to play, and it involves passing a football and trying to have control of the game and the reason I played Ollie Banks at the back was to try and gain that control, which we did at the start.

“We looked a really big threat, and you could tell that we’d had a few sessions on grass. Full credit to the Club this week for getting us some really good grass to train on and I think you could tell the difference.

“We worked really hard, played some cracking football as well and if we’d have defended like that last week we would have won the game, but they’re learning.

“The way I want to play, there is a bit of risk to it, so you have to have courage with the ball, and I thought they were great today.

“It is a proper football club here and there were two sets of players going at it, two sets of fans going at it. I would have paid to watch that today – I thoroughly enjoyed it.”
