Free Holiday Programmes For Youngsters

5 April 2022

Our amazing Community Trust staff are out in two local schools this week providing FREE Holiday Activity and Food Programmes for youngsters during the Easter break.

The EFL is celebrating the work that all 72 clubs do in their communities with the #EFLWeekofAction so we wanted to showcase the brilliant stuff our Community Trust is doing for children this week.

The Programmes, which are taking place at Ormsgill Nursery & Primary School and St George’s Primary School, run 10.30am to 3pm through Monday to Thursday this week.

Children will be able to take part in a number of indoor and outdoor activities, which are specially designed to enhance physical and mental wellbeing as well as increase self-esteem and confidence.

Drinks and lunch are provided free to all those who attend, and Community Trust Manager Craig Rutherford is delighted they can have such a positive impact on youngsters during the holidays.

“We’ve been really pleased by the turnout and the kids are all having great fun so it’s lovely to be a part of this,” he told us.

“We’re more than just a Football Club – we’re supporting young people with their aspirations by working with local businesses who share their work and skillsets.

“It’s providing our local youngsters with vital information which can help shape their futures and show them what is available to them in our amazing town.

“We’re working closely with BAE Systems and Orsted, as well as local music talents, DJ and Swerve from Horizon Studios so it’s providing a really varied and exciting week for the children.”
