Pete Wild's men were triumphant over the Sky Bet Championship side from the spot, with Lewis Fiorini blazing his kick into the 999 travelling Barrow fans to send The Bluebirds into Round Two.
Barrow had thought to have won it a couple kicks earlier, when Paul Farman denied Shayne Lavery from 12 yards. However, the linesman adjudged the Bluebirds 'keeper to have been off his line, so demanded a retake, which Lavery converted.
It was all okay in the end, though, as Barrow now progress to Round Two for the second year in succession, and can be matched with Premier League opposition once again in tonight's draw.
