Ankle Injury To Keep Josh Kay Sidelined

7 February 2022

Josh Kay is set for a spell on the sidelines after damaging ankle ligaments in the win over Northampton Town last Tuesday night.

The Bluebirds star was introduced from the bench at Sixfields Stadium but then had to be withdrawn himself after sustaining the injury.

Kay has now been told he’s likely to be out of action for at least six weeks in what is another blow for Mark Cooper during a campaign in which has already been challenging on the injury front.

“It seems to the be story of our season that we get close to having a fully-fit squad and then we pick up another problem or two,” the Barrow boss told us.

“I’m upset for Josh and for us because he’s a dangerous player and when the opposition are pressing us and leaving space in behind it’s ideal for him because he can use that pace he has.

“We can’t do anything now other than make sure he gets the best possible treatment and hope he can get back to fitness as soon as possible.”
