Mark Cooper has made his first move of the January transfer window by snapping up highly rated young Sunderland forward Will Harris on loan for the rest of the season.
The 6ft 2ins star underwent a medical on Wednesday evening before putting the finishing touches on his move from Wearside to The Dunes Hotel Stadium on Thursday.
Harris enjoyed an explosive start to the Black Cats' Under-23s campaign when he fired an impressive nine goals in their first eight league games to catch the eye of boss Lee Johnson.
His prolific form was rewarded with a senior league debut for Sunderland against Gillingham in October and the 21-year-old has also featured in their wins at Cambridge United in November and at Doncaster Rovers just after Christmas.
Bluebirds boss Cooper has long been an admirer of the former Burnley Academy youngster and has wasted no time in bringing the talented striker to Cumbria to help boost attacking options.
Harris has been handed squad number 17 and could go straight into contention for a debut in the FA Cup tie at Barnsley on Saturday.
