Jamie Devitt has left Barrow after a mutual agreement was reached to cancel his contract and allow him to pursue First Team opportunities elsewhere.
The midfielder joined The Bluebirds last January and played his part as we clinched survival in League Two, scoring a memorable free kick to seal a crucial home win over Newport County.
However, an unfortunate injury in the opening month of the current campaign kept him out of action until the New Year when he returned to make four appearances from the bench.
“Jamie has had a disrupted season due to injury and that didn’t give us the opportunity to see his real ability, which is a shame,” explained boss Mark Cooper.
“He’s a great lad and a really good professional so he leaves with our blessing and I wish him good luck for the future.”
In all, Devitt played 22 times in all competitions for The Bluebirds and everybody at the Club wishes him every success in the next stage of his career.
