After consultation with our stakeholders, fans and taking further advice from the EFL, we can offer the following update on unsupervised U14s for games at the SO Legal Stadium.
First and foremost, for tonight’s fixture with Fleetwood Town, we will be reverting to last season’s practises.
From Saturday, a special ticket for unsupervised 12-16 year olds will be made available for purchase.
This ticket is only available online, and only one can be purchased per transaction. Details of the 12-16 year old attending will be needed, so Barrow AFC has a record for safeguarding purposes, in line with EFL safeguarding practises.
Chief Operating Officer, Alisha Henry said:
“The safety of our fans is the most important thing at this Football Club.
“Yesterday’s decision was made with our greatest intentions to keep children safe whilst watching Barrow at the SO Legal Stadium.
“However, it has become apparent over the last 24 hours that this decision might have other detrimental effects, so we have taken advice from the EFL and worked with stakeholders to come to a decision that we think is the best compromise, with the introduction of our new 12-16 ticket.”
