Pete Wild Blog: Wednesday 22nd June

22 June 2022

Bluebirds manager Pete Wild returns for another instalment of his weekly blog.

Hello everybody, and welcome to my third Blog here on the Official Website.

As has been the case since I joined the club, it’s been another very busy week. We were delighted to get the deals of Tyrell Warren and Sam Foley over the line and welcome them to the squad.

To touch briefly on those new lads: Ty will offer good defensive cover, as well as exciting attributes going forward. He’s a great character and a fantastic prospect in the game. I’m very much looking forward to seeing him develop even further as a person and player with us at Barrow.

Sam joins the group and will add tremendous experience and knowhow of playing at this level, leading by example in everything he does. He is a true leader on and off the pitch, and of course brings a great deal of quality along with him too.

We’re thrilled to get those two new lads in, and we’re not done with our business yet. We’re hopeful of some more signings across the next seven days. Myself and Iain Wood have been hard at work since I arrived at Barrow, and it’s good to see some of our hard work pay off with the new lads coming in to join the group.

We also had an outgoing this week, with Ollie Banks moving on to new endeavours. Myself and everybody connected with the club wishes Ollie all the best for the future.

I’ve spent the past few days in Barrow. I’ve really enjoyed meeting staff and people connected with the football club, along with spending some time in the town itself. It’s been very enjoyable chatting with the groundstaff and seeing that the pitch is coming along nicely.

To round off, I’m now really excited about the fixtures being released tomorrow. It’ll give us something to really work towards, as the start of the new season creeps ever closer.

Once again, thank you for reading and I look forward to writing to you all next week with further updates.

Pete.
