Charity Night Raises £800 For Harley

10 March 2022

We’re delighted to confirm that our recent charity night for Harley Anderson raised almost £800 towards costs for him and his family as he continues his battle against leukaemia.

The 11-year-old – whose father works matchdays at The Dunes Hotel Stadium - was diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukaemia back in October.

Since then, the family have faced mounting costs for travel and accommodation for Harley to receive expert treatment at Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital – and we wanted to do something to help out.

We sold tickets for a charity night which was held in The Cross Bar after our home game against Stevenage last month and as part of that we held a raffle to raise extra funds.

A total of £686 was raised, with that figure boosted by a further £100 donation from Christine Platt, who won that day’s Bluebirds Trust Raffle!

We’d like to thank all the local companies who helped by donating prizes and we wish Harley and his family all the best from everyone at Barrow AFC.
