Keep On Smiling Says Excited Brown

24 March 2022

Phil Brown has admitted he’s felt right at home during his first few days as Bluebirds manager and is determined to ensure that everyone associated with the Club can enjoy the run-in.

The experienced boss was handed the reins on Monday after signing a deal to take charge at The Dunes Hotel Stadium until the end of the current campaign.

After overseeing training during the early part of the week, Brown spent Wednesday in Barrow where he met staff at the Club, local media and supporters around the town.

And he’s admitted that having some time to connect with some of the people for whom the Club matters most has given him an even greater motivation to ensure a successful end to the season.

“The lasting memory for me is that everyone that I have met seems to have a smile on their face so we can keep those smiles on faces by winning the game this weekend,” Brown told us.

“It’s an important 90 minutes on Saturday and my first as the manager here so I want to put a marker down on how I want to approach the nine-game challenge.

“That doesn’t mean in terms of my philosophy or how I want to play the game – it’s more about asking if we’re strong enough mentally to get something at Leyton Orient this weekend.

“It starts Saturday, and the first 90 minutes are always the most important and I want to keep those smiles on people’s faces as long as I possibly can because there is nothing better.”
