There was a big surprise for one Barrow fan on Mother’s Day when new Bluebirds boss Phil Brown turned up on her doorstep to personally present a special gift from the Club!
For the second year, we ran a campaign allowing supporters to tell us why their mums deserved an extra special Mother’s Day this year and we were once again inundate with amazing entries.
Among the best of the nominations was Nathan Garnett’s for his mum, Nicola – so we decided to call round to their house with the new gaffer to hand over a hamper of hamper of luxury candles.
“It was brilliant seeing the look on her face when she opened the door,” said Brown.
“I’ve said since I arrived at the Club that I want to help us really connect with the local community and this was just another way of doing that.
“I enjoyed meeting Nicola and the family and hopefully we helped give her a Mother’s Day to remember.”
