Barrow captain Niall Canavan has today signed a new two-year deal with The Bluebirds, keeping him at the SO Legal Stadium until 2024.
The Bramley-born defender's deal includes an option at the end of the deal, which could see Canavan in Barrow colours for three more years.
Pete Wild is delighted to secure Canavan's services for the long term, and paid tribute to his captain's leadership and peformances on the pitch this season.
"Niall is an impeccible leader and an integral part of this Football Club" said Wild.
"He is a true role model on and off the field, and helps our younger players with their development.
"He's the first of many we hope to tie down to secure the future of the team and build something special here at Barrow."
