Barrow boss Pete Wild reflects on his side’s 1-1 draw away at Gillingham.
It was Josh Kay that sent The Bluebirds into the lead on 35 minutes with an overhead kick to convert from Ben Whitfield’s cross. Kay had a big chance to double the lead, and potentially put the game to bed, but for Glenn Morris’ penalty save early into the second half.
Speaking to us after the game, Wild stood by his pre-match statement that “any point on the road is a good point” albeit obviously disappointed that it wasn’t all three.
However, he stated that “it shows how far the Club has progressed that we are coming away to Gillingham and being gutted that we haven’t won.”
