Pete Wild Nominated For Manager Of The Month

6 September 2022

Barrow boss Pete Wild has been nominated for Sky Bet League Two Manager of the Month for August.

The full August nominations for the Sky Bet League Two Manager of the Month Award are:

Steve Evans (Stevenage)

After leading his new club to Sky Bet EFL safety in May, Evans has recruited positively and quickly forged a new team spirit. As well as three cup wins over higher division sides, August saw Stevenage collect 10 points from five games.

Gary McSheffrey (Doncaster Rovers)

The wounds opened by relegation from League One ran deep in south Yorkshire. They are healing quickly under McSheffrey with four one-goal victories and a draw from five games suggesting that the club’s inner belief is returning.

Richie Wellens (Leyton Orient)

Wellens is quietly rebuilding his managerial reputation in style in east London, creating a side that is easy on the eye and determined in front of goal. Their prize for earning 13 points from five unbeaten games was top spot in League Two.

Pete Wild (Barrow)

Plucked from non-league FC Halifax Town, Wild has brought hunger, warmth and increased attendances to Barrow, lightening the atmosphere, forging new bonds between his players and inspiring them to a haul of 12 points from five games.
