Pete Wild’s side is back on the road for the fourth time this season as we travel away to Stockport County tomorrow hoping to continue our great start to the season.
The Bluebirds have picked up an impressive seven points from their opening three games in the Sky Bet League Two this season.
Wild’s men picked up back-to-back 2-1 wins against Tranmere Rovers and Sutton United in their first two games whilst they left it late to snatch a point away at Accrington Stanley on Tuesday night.
Emile Acquah was the hero against Stanley as he came off the bench to score in the 87th minute, bagging his second goal in as many games.
Fellow substitute Junior Tiensia also impressed coming off the bench on Tuesday night as he assisted Acquah for the equaliser
We’ll be without Mazeed Ogungbo who continues to recover from his torn meniscus sustained in pre-season.
Whilst we’ll also be without Ben Whitfield who continues to recover from an Achilles issue.
Stockport had a very impressive season last year finishing fourth in League Two, eventually losing in the Play-Off Final on spot kicks.
As a result of their impressive season last time out many have tipped County to go one further and achieve promotion this year.
However, it has been a tricky start for Dave Challinor’s side who have only picked up one point in their opening three league games.
In their most recent outing, County picked up their first point of the season in dramatic circumstances, after they drew with Bradford City on Tuesday night after keeper Ben Hinchliffe saved an 82nd-minute penalty to secure his side a point.
We also faced County at Edgeley Park at the start of last season, and we’ll be hoping for a repeat of that game tomorrow as we ran out 3-2 winners.
We completed the league double over County in February as a Josh Kay goal secured a 1-0 victory at the SO Legal Stadium.
Peter Wright will be the referee for tomorrow’s match with Richard Wigglesworth and Johnathon Bickerdike being his assistants, whilst Ollie Williams will be the fourth official.
