Barrow Seal Feely Deal

5 January 2023

Pete Wild has added another January signing to his ranks, as defender Rory Feely joins The Bluebirds on a contract until the end of 2023/24.

Feely, who has played for Republic of Ireland at U21 level, has spent the past two seasons with Bohemians in the League of Ireland.

The 6ft 3in defender starred 54 times for the Dublin side, including 4 appearances in the UEFA Europa Conference League.

"Full credit has to go to our recruitment team for this signing," said Bluebirds boss Pete Wild.

"We are always looking for different avenues to recruit and this signing is a great example of that.

"After being presented with all the information and having had the opportunity to see Rory first hand on week-long trial, we felt he was a great addition to the group.

"He brings pace to our back four, he is really good with both feet and can play as a right-side centre half or a right back, which always is helpful with a small squad like ours.

"As you know, with our recruitment, the number one priority is the character of the individual.

"As such, having a player with over 150 league games in Ireland, we feel he has the natural atributes to fit well into our group."

The Belgium-born defender now joins The Bluebirds, subject to international clearance, and will wear the 24 shirt for Barrow.
