Emile Acquah Signs For Barrow

11 July 2023

We’re delighted to announce the signing of promising striker Emile Acquah from National League Side Maidenhead United on a three-year deal.

Acquah leaves Maidenhead following a two-year stint at United where he most notably bagged 13 goals in the National League this season.

Before United Acquah came through the ranks at Southend United where he made his senior debut at 18, going on to make a total of 41 appearances for the club.

Speaking in his first interview at the us the 22-year-old said: “I’m happy to be here, I’m delighted It’s all been sorted now and I can’t wait to get going.

“Coming off the back of a good season last year I couldn’t wait to make the step up and after speaking to the Manger, the Chairman, and the Sporting Director it seemed like a good move for me.

“I think I’m only getting better at the moment, and I think after last season I’ve got some good momentum to do well in this league.”

Our Sporting Director Iain Wood said: “I’m really happy to get this signing over the line. Emile perfectly fits the profile of the type of player we want at this club. On the pitch, he’s a forward who loves to score goals and gets in great positions, whilst off the pitch he’s a lovely lad with a really bright future.”

Wood added: “I want to put on record a big thank you to Alan Devonshire and Maidenhead for making this deal as smooth as possible. I wish them the very best for the future.”

Welcome to Barrow Emile!!!
