Jamie Proctor Joins The Bluebirds

20 June 2023

We are delighted to announce the signing of Jamie Proctor following the end of his contract at Port Vale.

The deal will see the striker link up with Barrow on an initial one-year deal, with an option for a further year.

The 31-year-old leaves Vale Park after two successful years in Staffordshire. During his first year, he fired home 13 goals to help his side get promoted to League One via the Play-Offs.

Proctor began his career at local club Preston North-End where he made his first team debut at 18 years old in a Championship clash against Reading. In total, he made 40 appearances for North End where he scored four goals including a goal against Watford in the Championship.

After a couple of seasons at Deepdale Proctor moved to then Premier League side Swansea City in August 2012 before joining Crawley Town in January 2013.

Proctor was clinical during his time with Crawley where he bagged seven goals in the second half of the 2012/2013 season, before going on to score another seven goals the following season.

After a successful 18-month stint in Surrey Proctor joined League One outfit Fleetwood Town in 2014, where he bagged eight goals and six assists in his first season with the Cod Army. He started the following season in fine form, picking up seven goal contributions in his opening 23 games.

In January 2015 he then moved to Bradford City, where he scored a further six goals.

Following the conclusion of the 2015/2016 season Proctor joined Bolton Wanderers, where he was reunited with manager Phil Parkinson who signed him at Bradford.

After a year at Bolton, Proctor was on the move again as he joined Rotherham United on a four-year deal. After a promising start with the Millers Proctor suffered a severe knee injury which caused him to miss a year of football.

The forward did manage to bag four goals for Rotherham in the 2018/2019 season but was forced to spend his final two years with the Millers out on loan at four different clubs.

After his contract expired at Rotherham in the summer of 2021 Proctor joined Darrell Clarke’s Port Vale, where he bagged 13 goals in his first season with Vale to help fire them to promotion.

And now, we’re delighted to welcome Jamie Proctor to Barrow AFC!
