"It's Another Milestone We Want To Break" - Wild

17 March 2023

Pete Wild is vowing to break Barrow's Harrogate hoodoo, as The Bluebirds look for a first victory in a 15th attempt at Wetherby Road.

Whilst a five game unbeaten run is the stat that's probably the most relevant for The Bluebirds' potential fortunes in Yorkshire tomorrow, history has never seen Barrow seal a victory away at Harrogate Town.

In 14 previous meetings at Wetherby Road, the sides have drawn on six occasions, with the home side taking all three points in the other eight.

"As a team we are lucky to have hit so many milestones this season, and this is another one we want to break," says Wild.

"I said to the players this week that every time there’s been a fact or figure thrown against us, we’ve overcome it, and we want to do that again on Saturday."

History aside, Wild is fully focussed on the challenge that faces his side at the weekend.

"I think it’s an interesting game for us, as Harrogate are very good at home this season and have done really well against the top teams at home.

"They’re well organised and we know they’ll be right on the front foot and come right at us from the off.

"They pose a real threat, they know how to score goals and they will want to put the wrongs right from last Saturday against Crawley.

Once again, a large away following is expected from the Barrow fans, and Wild is excited for the energy they'll bring on the road.

"My message to the fans is once again for them to drive us forward and be loud and proud.

"Get behind team as you always do, and let’s hope for another enjoyable game in Yorkshire."
