Waters Departs For Wrexham

22 March 2023

Billy Waters has today departed Barrow to join Wrexham for an undisclosed fee.

Waters signed for Barrow in the summer after leading the scoring charts at FC Halifax Town, hitting 21 goals in the 2021/22 National League campaign for The Shaymen.

This season, the forward has netted 9 times in 40 appearances for The Bluebirds, including a hat-trick in November against Colchester United; a feat that would see him named as League Two Player of the Month a couple weeks later.

Waters now makes the switch to the Racecourse Ground, where he will join Wrexham in the midst of a National League title charge.

Phil Parkinson’s side currently sit atop the table, thanks to a remarkable return of 94 points from 38 games. The Red Dragons are looking to put an end to their 15 year stay in non-league’s top tier and return to the Football League.

We would like to place on record our sincere thanks to Billy for his hard work and contributions during his time at the SO Legal Stadium, and wish him well for his future career.
