Family Guide: Barrow v AFC Wimbledon

23 March 2023

Are you visiting the SO Legal Stadium with your family on Saturday? If so, we've compiled a handy guide to make your visit that bit smoother!

Here at Barrow, we pride ourselves on being a friendly and inclusive Football Club and we welcome fans of all ages to the SO Legal Stadium.

If you want to come along and enjoy the football as a family then we’re set-up to ensure you have a brilliant time in a safe and welcoming environment.

Tickets
First off, it’s worth knowing that Under 7s can come to games at Barrow completely FREE – as long as they are accompanied by a full-paying adult – so if you have young children you’re off to a winning start!

It’s entirely up to you if you want to stand or sit – though if you have young children it may be a preferable option to take advantage of our seating.

Whilst there will be no cash turnstiles in operation on the day of the game, we do have a Ticket Office located near Main Reception open from 12noon and accepting card payments for tickets. If you wish to pay cash then simply head to the Ticket Booth in our Fan Zone - again, this is open from 12noon.

Buying in advance is always advised to avoid disappointment and also the potential for queuing on matchday.

Take a look below at our options – and then click here to order your tickets online.

Seating
There is seating available in The Brian Arrowsmith Main Stand at a cost of £19 for adults, £15 for Over 65s or Students and £6 for Under 18s. And remember, Under 7s go FREE as long as they’re with a full-paying adult.

Standing
If you’d prefer to stand then you have some options.

The Holker Street End is behind one of the goals and has had a new roof put on it during the summer of 2020 to ensure that the atmosphere is even better.

Otherwise, you can head to The Ray Wilkie Stand which runs alongside the pitch and always generates a great atmosphere in support of the players.

It won’t matter which area you choose in terms of price – standing tickets are £16 for adults, £13 for Over 65s and Students and £5 for Under 18s. And again, Under 7s are completely FREE with a full-paying adult.

Club Shop
We just know your family is going to love their day out at Holker Street but no trip is complete without a visit to our fantastic Club Shop which is packed with Bluebirds merchandise.

We have some Easter items in stock at the moment, or you could check out our new hoodies and t-shirts.

You’ll find the Club Shop behind Main Reception on Wilkie Road and it will be open from 10am until kick-off on a Saturday matchday.

Food & Drink
There are catering outlets inside the ground which serve a selection of hot and cold food, as well as hot and cold drinks. You'll see the wooden kiosks dotted around the stadium, which also serve our famous locally made pies!

All supporters are more than welcome to join us in The Cross Bar which is close to Main Reception on Wilkie Road and serves a great range of pre-match drinks from 12noon on a Saturday or 5pm in midweek.

Fan Zone
We are really excited to have our Fan Zone back for 2022/23 which gives supporters of all ages the opportunity to gather and enjoy the atmosphere ahead of kick-off.

The Fan Zone is the place to be before games – we have fun games for kids, arts & crafts and even Bluey The Bluebird will be there to pose for photos.

The Fan Zone opens at 12noon prior to a Saturday game.

Directions
The stadium is only a short walk from the train station in town which is good news if you’re coming in to Barrow by rail.

However, if you’re driving then check out our comprehensive directions by clicking here now.

Parking
Unfortunately, we are unable to offer official parking at the stadium due to limited capacity.

However, the Soccer Club – adjacent to Main Reception – offer spaces at a small cost on a first come first served basis on matchdays.

We also have an arrangement with Liberata where fans can head to park for games, as displayed on the map above.

Match Programmes
Our revamped Matchday Programme will be available around the ground so keep an eye out for sellers and make sure you pick up a copy while stocks last – there’ll be plenty inside to keep supporters (both young and old) entertained!

Programmes will also be available from The Ticket Office and Club Shop – but don’t worry if you don’t manage to get one on the day, simply call the Club and if we have remaining stock then we'll sell you one over the phone and get it out to you.

Reporting Anti-Social Behaviour
As we have said, we are determined to ensure that the SO Legal Stadium is a welcoming and friendly environment for every single supporters who visits.

However, if you are concerned by any behaviour you have witnessed then please let us know so that we can do something about it.
