Barrow AFC are delighted to announce an agreement with Northern Premier League side FC United of Manchester, based in North Manchester, a partnership that will see us hire their facilities as our training base for the foreseeable future, effective immediately.
We would like to thank all those at United of Manchester for this opportunity and the hard work that has gone into making it possible.
The site offers us excellent training facilities including grass pitches, an on-site 3G pitch, offices for all our staff to work from, as well as facilities for club chefs which provides a huge boost to our nutritional needs.
Speaking about the new training arrangements, Bluebirds boss Pete Wild said; “Every year we want to the club to keep progressing and yet again this shows the drive of the club to progress. The facilities are just what we need and we look forward to a positive and productive relationship with FC United, both on and off the pitch. I would also like to thank everyone connected with De La Salle for their hospitality this year.”
Sporting Director Iain Wood added “I would just like to say a massive thank you to De La Salle sports and social club for looking after us for the last 12 months, but our time has come to move on.
We believe we have left the facility in a better place than when we arrived and we have met some great staff and members of the public who we will miss on a day to day basis.
Moving to FC United of Manchester is a massive step up for us in attaining the standards that we are wanting to achieve daily. Myself, the staff and the players are excited about this move as we continue to keep pushing in the right direction and give ourselves the best opportunity to achieve our goals next season.”
