Pete Wild’s side will be looking to pick up back to back victories for the first time since August as we travel to Blundell Park tonight.
At the weekend the Bluebirds continued their fine start to the season by recording a hard-fought 3-2 win over Doncaster Rovers. This means Wild’s men continued their impressive home form this season, which has seen them win twice and draw once.
This means Barrow sit in tenth place in the league table despite having a game in hand of all teams above them, meaning if they do win that game in hand they could rise as high as fifth place.
Despite tonight’s game being our tenth of the season, it will be our seventh game away from home already. On the road last time out, Barrow were perhaps unfortunate to lose 1-0 at Mansfield, so there’s no doubt the Bluebirds will be looking to put on a show tonight in Grimsby.
Team news
Wild again has a big squad to pick from after no injuries were sustained over the weekend.
However, Junior Tiensia is still unavailable following his red card at Mansfield.
The opposition
It hasn’t been the best start to the season for the Mariners who currently sit in 19th place in League Two, having gone without a win in all competitions for over a month now.
However, Barrow certainly shouldn’t write off Town because they've recorded impressive victories over high-flyers Gillingham, and Salford City.
Head-to-head
We’ve played today’s hosts four times since our return to the EFL and interestingly every game has finished 1-0.
We have been on the losing end of that scoreline on three occasions, with our only win over today’s opponents in the past two season coming in October of last season.
