Barrow Midfielder Kian Spence Has Won League Two Goal Of The Month for his sensational strike on his debut against Tranmere Rovers.
The 22-year-old midfielder lashed home a first-time volley from the edge of the box, which clipped the inside of the bar before cannoning straight into the back of the net to secure us a 2-1 opening-day win at Prenton Park.
The goal of the month winner said: “It feels great, I feel like I’ve just got over watching it so to relive it again by winning the goal of the month award is great and I’m delighted to win. I can’t remember the last trophy I won, maybe one when I was like eight years old so it’s really nice to have, and it’s also really nice to be acknowledged.
He added: “I feel like it was quite a big day for me anyway so for that to happen just felt like it was my day and it’s one of those days I look back on and am just so grateful it happened really.
When questioned about the strike Spence struggled to summarise his first goal for the club, saying: “It’s still a bit of a blur, to be honest, and with it being my first league game in a while when the ball came off my foot and went into the goal it was just a blur. You can tell by the celebration that I’ve just ran to Rory [Feely] and given him a big hug, it just didn’t feel real, to be honest.”
Congratulations Kian!
