We’re back in League Two action for the first time in a fortnight as we travel down to Newport County hoping to make it back-to-back away victories.
We were last in league action two weeks ago as we defeated Harrogate Town thanks to another stunning strike from August Goal Of The Month Winner Kian Spence, whilst goalkeeper Paul Farman made a crucial penalty stop to preserve our first clean sheet of the season.
That victory moved us onto an impressive 11 points after six league games.
Since our trip to North Yorkshire, we have faced Blackpool in the EFL Trophy where we lost 2-0 but put on a spirited performance against the League One Side, whilst our B Team also played the Tangerines' Reserve Side and this time we ran out 5-3 winners.
Team news
The opposition
Newport has had a mixed start to the season with the Welsh Side currently occupying 13th place in the table. County has scored a lot of goals this season, scoring at least two goals on six occasions.
However, at the other end of the pitch, Newport has also shipped out 16 goals so far.
Head-to-head
Since our return to the EFL, we have faced Newport on six occasions and have been victorious three times, whilst also losing three times.
In our most recent trip to Rodney Parade were ran out 2-0 winners thanks to a brace from former Bluebird Josh Gordon.
