Barrow were beaten 3-0 at Bloomfield Road by Blackpool in the Central League.
A second hat-trick from Zak Emmerson wrapped up the win for The Seasiders in what was the Barrow B team’s first league defeat this season.
Jason Taylor named a squad mainly filled with trialists, mixed in with a few first-team players due to the first team taking Bradford City later this evening.
It was Blackpool who created the first opening of the game on ten minutes when a ball in behind fell to Emmerson on the right-hand side of the box and the forward fired his effort wide of the post.
The Seasiders continued to push for an opener when Jake Daniels worked himself into some space on the left and he fired in an effort which was palmed behind by the Barrow goalkeeper.
The Bluebirds had their best chance of the first half on 30 minutes when skipper Owen Bray’s driven effort was well saved by the Blackpool goalkeeper, down to his right.
The hosts came close to opening the scoring just before the break when Josh Miles’ cross from the right was headed wide by Emmerson from close range.
Pool took the lead on 62 minutes when the ball dropped to Emmerson inside the area, and he volleyed home into the bottom left corner.
Barrow pressed for an equaliser and came close when a corner from Trialist D found Trialist J at the far post who headed just wide.
The Seasiders doubled their lead moments later when Daniels’ cross from the left was converted by Emmerson at the near post.
The Bluebirds almost pulled one back with 15 minutes to play when Junior Tiensia’s cross from the right was met by Trialist E who saw his header saved by the Blackpool shot-stopper.
Pool grabbed a third goal five minutes from time when Daniels and Emmerson combined again with Daniels crossing from the left for Emmerson to head home.
