A look back at a big win for Barrow!
On this day in 2011 the Bluebirds produced a five star performance as a Paul Rutherford hat-trick gave them a resounding win over Kettering.
The final result was perhaps surprising given that the first half produced no goals and little in the way of action to report either with the game goalless at half time.
Half Time: Barrow 0-0 Kettering
It took Barrow just nine second half minutes to grab the opening goal of the game. Paul Rutherford took posession inside the area and his well taken effort beat Gueret in the Kettering goal.
The second goal followed five minutes later when Paul Smith found the back of the net from twelve yards and he found the back of the net again soon after for his second and Barrows third.
Paul Rutherford went on to get the home sides final two goals, first finding the bottom right hand corner with five minutes to go, before confirming his hat-trick in stoppage time with a well-placed header from close range.
The win saw the Bluebirds boost their survival hopes as we moved four points clear of 21st placed Southport with a game in hand, whilst Kettering remained 15th.
