Fantastic new for the Bluebirds!
We are delighted to announce that we have today finalized agreements with Blackburn Rovers for Tom White and Matty Platt to stay at the Progression Solicitors Stadium until after our final competitive game of the season.
White signs an extension to his previous loan deal, with Rovers confirming that Platt won’t be recalled from his season long loan.
White started his career in the same boys club as Adam Armstrong, before completing his scholarship with Carlisle United.
He then joined Gateshead at the age of 18, before gaining first team experience on loan at the likes of Spennymoor, West Aukland, Ashington and Scarborough, where he won promotion to the Evo-Stik Premier in 2018.
A combative and ball-playing midfielder, White made over 40 appearances for Gateshead last season and gained international honours with England C – earning caps against Wales and Estonia.
He joined Blackburn last summer and joined us on a two month loan deal at the end of last year.
Matty Platt rejoined us for a second spell earlier in the season after an earlier stint under Paul Cox.
Born in Knowsley, the 21 year old centre half joined Blackburn as a trainee and has been involved with their first team squad.
After a spell on loan with us in 2017, he has featured at both Accrington Stanley and Southport since and joined us on a season long loan back in August, proving to be a vital part of our good form since then.
