Experienced defender Mark Ellis joined Barrow in the summer of 2021 following his release from League Two rivals Tranmere Rovers.
The centre-back had previously played under Bluebirds boss Mark Cooper at Forest Green Rovers and jumped at the chance to be reunited at Barrow.
Ellis, who has more than 400 senior games under his belt, starred on loan at Notts County during the latter part of last term, scoring some crucial goals as the Meadow Lane outfit came close to promotion.
The former Bolton Wanderers youngster made his name in his native Devon with Torquay United whom he helped win promotion to the Football League in 2008/09.
After a short stay at Forest Green, the combative defender signed for Crewe Alexandra where he was a regular for two seasons before moving on to Shrewsbury Town in the summer of 2014.
A couple of loan moves to Carlisle United paved the way for a permanent move to Brunton Park in 2016 before he worked under Cooper during a second loan stint at Forest Green.
Known for his no-nonsense approach to defending and his attacking threat from set-pieces, Ellis spent time on loan at Leyton Orient before moving to Tranmere in July 2018.
