Front man Josh Gordon clinched a move to Barrow during the summer of 2021 when he signed a two-year deal following his departure from Walsall.
The striker had netted 27 goals in 123 appearances for The Saddlers during three seasons at The Banks’s Stadium, ending the 2019/20 campaign as their top scorer.
Gordon was well known to Bluebirds boss Mark Cooper having always performed well against his sides in the past, particularly when firing a hat-trick past Forest Green Rovers in Walsall colours.
The Stoke-born star began his career on the books of Stoke City before moving into non-league with Newcastle Town, Nantwich Town and Rhyl. However, a prolific stint for Stafford Rangers in 2016/17 earned him a big move to Premier League champions, Leicester City.
He was a regular scorer in The Foxes’ Under-23 side in Premier League and wasn’t short of offers when he was released in 2018 but it was Walsall who won the race for his signature.
