Talented midfielder Ollie Banks became a Barrow player in January 2020 when he put pen to paper on a deal with The Bluebirds after leaving in Tranmere Rovers.
The 28-year-old, who is most at home in the centre of midfield from where he can score and create, had put in a catalogue of eye-catching performances since signing for Rovers in 2018 to cement his status as a fans’ favourite at Prenton Park.
Banks played an instrumental role in Rovers’ promotion from League Two in 2018/19, producing a series of consistent displays and memorable moments, including a stunning play-off semi-final goal against Forest Green Rovers.
Injury was to frustrate the schemer during the 2019/20 League One campaign, but he has made 19 appearances for the Birkenhead outfit this term, including as a starter in their draw at Stevenage on Saturday.
Banks initially came through the ranks at Rotherham United where he turned professional and scored on his senior debut in 2011, before playing at non-league level for the likes of Gainsborough Trinity, Scarborough Athletic and FC United of Manchester.
However, in 2013 he jumped back in to the EFL with Chesterfield where he spent three years before moving on to Oldham Athletic in 2016 where he notched up yet more senior experience prior to linking-up with Tranmere.
