Barrow AFC is extremely disappointed with the FA following last night’s announcement about reformatting the FA Cup in order to appease the small percentage of teams at the top of our football pyramid.
Like many clubs around this level, Barrow has had some special FA Cup replays over the years, which have given the club and our fans unforgettable memories that will stay with them for a lifetime. So, for nights like these to be ripped away from us and hundreds of other clubs is simply unacceptable.
For the EFL clubs to not even be consulted about this change is simply unforgivable and we stand with many other clubs in condemning the changes made to the oldest competition in world football. So, we call upon the FA to stop these changes until all of the stakeholders have been contacted.
